I’m Janet Hildebrand Diffley of Atlanta, Georgia. Trained in epidemiology, I work full-time as a health research analyst studying the risks associated with weight, obesity, diet, physical activity, and more. All of my adult life I maintained a healthy (by some standards, ideal) weight for my 5’4” frame…that is, until a few years ago when I gradually began gaining (no doubt due to menopause). Thirteen pounds later I decided it’s time to reverse the trend and get back to my healthier, leaner, more youthful, self. I’m taking my scientific knowledge to heart and making adjustments to the way I eat, move, work and live, to lose those excess pounds and chart a course for better long-lasting health. These pages tell the story of how I’m doing it.
